Recharge yourself by grounding yourself. Feel your roots reaching deep into the earth and pulling up energy from it's depths. If you can, sit near a tree. Be the tree.

Mondays are like stepping off a cliff not knowing if there are fluffy pillows or jagged rocks below. The week ahead has much in store but we know not what. Just keeping moving forward and don't look back. This takes some strength and will power because there is nothing more human than to look back. Ask Lot's wife. Do your best to resist the urge.

It's a good day for some introspection. Take stock of where you are and think toward your future. It doesn't have to be the distant future, it could just be tomorrow or even later today. The point is to consciously and with intention, focus on where you are going, not where you have been.

This will give you the energy you need.

Get ready to step out of your comfort zone. It's long overdue. Life is calling for you to participate again. Being present is not just a state of mind, it's a real physical thing sometimes.

The Byzantine Tarot by Cilla Conway: 01 APR 2022

Post by Joan Marie »

The Byzantine Tarot
by Cilla Conway

My son and his girlfriend got married this week and they held the ceremony at the homeless encampment where they volunteer. They brought the whole party, food, cake, and all to the tunnels beneath the casinos of Las Vegas. Yeah, that's a thing. They chose to share their special day, very low-key, with the people they work with and for.
They've been doing this for some time and have observed that a lot of people, when they set out to help, do so sort of expecting to see a result. And they are disappointed when it seems that the problems are ongoing and all they were able to do was offer a tiny bit of relief here and there.
But that's all any of us can ever do. We aren't called upon to save the world. But we are called upon to be of use when we can, where we can. And that opportunity is a gift we can be grateful for.
You'll know when you are called upon. It could be a one-off or something you dedicate yourself to. It could be someone you know or someone you'll never meet. Just don't approach it with expectations. Be glad for every chance you get to be useful in this life, to bring some dignity to yourself and to others.
Then go out and party like it's 1999 if you want. That's cool too. Life is to be enjoyed by everybody.

"I need to catch up on my reading" is something people used to say.
You don't hear that so much any more.
Let's change that. Let's start prioritising reading, setting aside time for it and enrich ourselves with words from the page. Images too. Today is a good day to revive a very healthy habit.

The Carnival at the End of the World Tarot

Your are about to embark on some new things so it's important right now to put some energy and attention into things you have already accomplished. Do whatever maintenance or sprucing up is needed. Give attention to things that have been on auto-pilot for a while. Breathe some life into your "finished" works and then you will be in the right space with the right energy for what is to come. As an added bonus, you'll be reminded of all your successes and feats of daring-do.

Tarot of the Lucid Slumber by Adi Dahlke: 05 APR 2022

Tarot of the Lucid Slumber
by Adi Dahlke

It's important right now to stoke the flame of your spirit. As much as it is possible, avoid what depletes you and embrace what gives you life. This is not the same as what makes you "happy" or "sad." It's about making yourself stronger. You may have to push yourself but it will be worth it. A broken leg might feel fine when the cast is removed, but you never know for certain until you stand up on it and walk around. Give yourself small challenges and you'll be in better shape to face bigger ones soon enough.

There is probably no bigger waste of time in life than the time spent seeking the approval of others. While it can be nice to have, if it becomes a driving force it will corrupt your efforts and uselessly colour all your decisions and choices. Be your own person. Start today.

To draw something divine into your life, you have to create a space for it. That space or that container must befit and honour what you wish to attract. And if you need help or advice to make it better, seek it out because the more love and magical energy that goes into it, the more welcoming and hospitable your creation will be for the spirits you seek to attract.

In some of the more biblical interpretations of the Tower card, they reference the Tower of Babel which was struck down because it was a monument to ego and vanity that the builders had claimed had a higher purpose. It was self-delusion.
We build misguided Towers to things, people, and ideas all the time.
Sometimes the Tower really needs to fall. You may even be the one who needs to knock it down.

Sometimes, ironically, the hardest thing to achieve is simplicity, simple elegance. Today take a step back and have another look at something that has had you vexed and see if the solution isn't to scale it back some, strip away some of the extra qualities and focus on what truly makes it beautiful, useful, functional, pleasant, fun, or whatever it is you are tying to achieve.

There are many ways to cast a spell. Some people use candles, rituals, sigils, or any other of countless methods that have one thing in common: Intention.

A promise is a spell, an incantation to be specific. You speak or write the words and that spell is cast. You've set the wheels in motion. It's the same with making a plan. One you firmly set that intention, to not follow through, to stop the wheel, breaks the spell you cast and you feel it. Your words have power. Over you most of all. This is a wonderful thing to know and to use wisely.

There is a bounty just waiting for you. It's waiting for you at the beginning of each day. There is an awakening for you afoot. You may find it in your home, your garden, in the eyes of someone you love, in the kindness and tenderness you see in others, in your morning cup of coffee. Wherever you find it, take it in and let it fill your spirit and make you stronger.

The Empathic Oracle by Steve Wilson & artist Michelle Motuzas: 14 APR 2022

The Empathic Oracle
by Steve Wilson & artist Michelle Motuzas

Once at a party in Santa Cruz, California, a guy told me that he was the "writer, director, editor and star" of his life.
I responded, "editor? Do you really think you can edit your life?"
He answered an emphatic "Yes! Just remove the bad parts!"

I couldn't agree less.

Good editing, which is storytelling really, requires juxtaposition of elements to bring out the deeper meanings of things. Good editing takes us beneath the surface of a story and makes us think, makes us see the things that aren't apparent right away. This is an art and one that we can apply to our life stories. You can't just leave the mistakes, failures, grief, and pain on the cutting room floor. But by placing them artfully, with care, you can deepen your experience and understanding of your journey.

I wish you a peaceful Good Friday.
