occult tarot

Post by chelseamaay »

I need a little help I purchased the occult tarot for the first time and after placing the tenth card in the reading it reveals the demon to which you shall pay the price of receiving your desires. If the debt is not paid the demon may trouble you, how do i know what the price is ? what should i be doing here.

Hi chelseamaay,
hmmm. I am not familiar with that deck at all but I'm generally very skeptical of any deck that would give such a specific instruction to a user. It doesn't allow for much in the way of interpretive skill, does it?

That's really not how tarot works.

I think that deck is probably meant to use for fun. I wouldn't take any of it seriously at all. It's for people who want to dabble, it's not meant for serious use.

If you are interested in the occult, you can learn more about what the Occult really is. "Demons" are truly not a big part of it. Not in any frightening or threatening sense.
Check out the books of Lon Milo DuQuette. In fact, have a look at an interview i did with him to start. You can see it here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=2153

He is a very learned and kind man who specialises in occult topics. I think that might be a better place for you to start your exploration of the occult.

And welcome to the forum. ❤️❤️❤️

Without the book in front of us, it would be impossible for us to offer guidance. Surely there are instruction given how to maneuver through this process. If it doesn't, then I would question the validity of the system. Possibly set the entire thing aside, or at least the book, and use the cards themselves intuitively. There are many decks out there with great cards and "garbage" books, in my opinion.

What was the question? What was the spread [if you used one}? What were the other cards? Was this devil the final card?

In general, of course, it is to be expected that creditors will trouble you if you do not pay your debts! It's a simple truism one hardly needs the tarot to tell you :D

What is the price? I've no idea, perhaps nothing - who are you indebted to, if anyone? {Credit and indebtedness is not necessarily financial.}

What should I be doing here? Pay your debts? Or, be careful not to get into debts for something you will have trouble repaying?

"it reveals the demon to which you shall pay the price of receiving your desires. If the debt is not paid the demon may trouble you,"

The demon here could be anyone, a barman for example, who if he doesn't throw you out himself might get the bouncer to do so if you refuse to pay for your drinks.

Without context of a question, spread [if there is one] and the other cards it is difficult to offer guidance. In context of the question this specific meaning of the card may be applied literally, or more likely will need to be interpreted figuratively, metaphorically, allegorically or through some visual or linguistic element that fits the context of the question.
