Brighten Up The Day/Evening with Plants & Fun Stuff

I planted some lettuce plants in pots for my bunny so she can graze on the balcony. There is also a peppermint plant she likes.






In other balcony news,

If you want to attract bees, plant nasturtiums. They grow easily and quick, are beautiful and the bees go crazy for them. I am surrounded by busy bumblebees at the moment. I've never seen so many at once.





People always say you can eat nasturtium flowers and I guess you can but I prefer to let them produce seeds. This one flower made 3 seeds. I collect them and save them for next year. Every year I have more and more.

A series of delightful radio dramas from way back in the day, pre-cast of thousands, Technicolor and modern CGI.

It’s like the black and white films of the period when light and shadow we’re used to amazing effect.

Just well written scripts, sound effects, atmospheric music and generous dash of hokeyness.

Naively entertaining, but throughly satisfying.

I'm gonna be so busy on instagram.

I just spent a couple of hours looking through just a tiny portion of photos I've taken over the years that have just been sitting on my computer unloved.
Well, I won't be hurting for Instagram content.

But I did want to share a couple here of my Christmas tree from a few years ago.

The tree is outside our dining room window because THOSE ARE REAL CANDLES!

We might be crazy but we're not insane.

It was really pretty and the element of danger added something to the evening.

I just ran into this on twitter and it has totally redeemed twitter for me.

It looks like a google map of the world and you can zoom all around it just like google maps, but there are thousands of little green dots all over it and every dot is a radio station streaming live. You can listen to radio from everywhere. It's cultural teleporting.

It's just remarkable. Really.

My current favourite channel is called Arctic Outpost on the Norwegian Archipelago of Svalbard.
They only play old 78s.

So fun. I imagine them in all that frozen darkness...
