I was wondering if we might channel our inner Don Drapers and Peggy Olsens and see if we can come up with some “taglines” to help encourage people to buy decks directly from artists and otherwise avoid buying counterfeit tarot decks.
There are so many talented artists here, and I thought it might be fun if we come up with some taglines and slogans, then you guys could put together some fun beautiful graphics that could be posted to instagram and twitter etc.
The same slogan could be rendered a million different ways only limited by your creativity and imaginations (so...unlimited!) and it would be such a fun, positive and powerful way to get our message out.
The taglines should be positive, not scolding, and focus on using the decks as opposed to buying them. We want to encourage positive behavior, as opposed to scolding bad behavior. They should be short and to the point. Extra points if they are funny!
So for example: “Real Tarot Readers Use Real Tarot Decks” – something like that. Think of all the ways that idea could be rendered.
Once we get some slogans together the artists can jump in and start doing their thing.
Best size for instagram is 1080x1080pixels
twitter Image width/height: 600 X 335 pixels (will show completely without having to click on it)
72-300dpi (smaller files load faster)
We can make all the images available in a central resource and we can all have access to them and use them on our social media.
Encouraging the buyers to buy authentic decks is one big piece of the effort to stem the proliferation of counterfeit decks. We have so much creative talent here, there’s no reason we couldn’t do some really professional looking Ads and PSA’s.
Eventually it would be great to have a dedicated website to direct people to for more information but for now just showing the value of our community and its talent is a big first step toward changing buyer behavior.
Counterfeit decks are a huge issue in our community. Raising awareness and changing buyer behaviour is one very important part of tackling this problem. I am promoting this over in a facebook group as well dedicated to finding solutions. I will share your slogans over there and vice-versa. I figure, we might as well have fun with this, no?
So, contribute your taglines and slogans here. We’ll compile them and then the artists can start in.
