DoW: Abyssal Tarot, Joan Marie

Post by Joan Marie »

The Abyssal tarot is a really unusual deck. It's all photography with models.
I just added it to the Library of Decks.

Here is the link: app.php/tarot-decks-a?start=12

I think I will start on Sunday.

I get a feeling of movement forward here but it isn't like a brisk movement. It's a movement that comes from being present and feeling aware. Looking around. Aware of my surroundings. My possibilities. My limitations. Working within all of that.

She exudes the confidence of true grace, poise. She looks cared for, maybe even spoilt. It's easy to be charming when things are going your way. Funny how I find myself here judging her without knowing her at all! I see a smug little rich girl here and I don't know why exactly.

I feel like I've just uncovered a bit of my own shadow side here.

Anyway, interesting!

She glows and shines within darkness.

Another beautiful image.
This deck is strange and really more art than Tarot. Each card is an extraordinary combination of lighting and posing and colours and post-production.
It doesn't speak to me in a tarot way, at least not "on command." I can imagine in a certain mood, for certain style of reading, this deck could be a lot of fun. But for me to use it as Deck of the Week, I have to admit is not working so well.

But they are beautiful.
