Scry me a River?: Week 13

Post by Joan Marie »

This week I want to try something a little different in honour of NGC 6052.

What is NGC 6052 you ask? It's actually 2 things. It's 2 galaxies colliding. They are located in the constellation Hercules which happens to be showing in the western sky right now in the Northern hemisphere. (by the way, did you know that a galaxy, much less TWO of them, could be located inside of a constellation? I had no idea and my mind is blown.)

Here is a picture of it:
ngc_6052.jpg

I hope I never become jaded to the fact that I live in an age where a photograph of something 230 million light years away is at my fingertips.

I got this from the Stardate site. And here is how they describe this celestial mass of beauty:
NGC 6052 is a mess. It looks a little like a pair of big spiders locked in mortal combat. Instead, though, it’s two galaxies that are staging their own combat — they’re in the process of merging.
??? Spiders in a fight?
Obviously it's a snake who ate an elephant. In any case, it's definitely not a hat.

(nods to fans of "The Little Prince", which coincidentally, is a story with a celestial theme.)

Maybe you see something else.

So here is my idea this week for anyone who would like to follow along.
  • Pick a deck you can really scry into.
  • Then each day, draw two cards and tell us what you see when they collide, when their messages engage in combat, or swallow each other or make love or however they seem to be interacting to you.
Who's in?

As always, here are some suggestions (and they are only suggestions) to give you a little spirit of the planet of the day that may influence your reading:
  • Monday - Ruled by the Moon - Home life, inner life
  • Tuesday - Ruled by Mars – Adventures, challenges
  • Wednesday - Ruled by Mercury –Letters, messages, communications
  • Thursday - Ruled by Jupiter - Advice, exploring, journeys.
  • Friday - Ruled by Venus – Love, relationships, Art.
  • Saturday - Ruled by Saturn – Work, discipline, training
  • Sunday - Ruled by the Sun – The cycle of life, plans, advancement
I wish you fun with this and hope the exercise leads to some wonderful ideas and inspirations for you.

(If you are new to My Celestial Week or want to know more about it, you can see this post.)

Also remember, you can jump in any time, the week starts when you start it.

So choose a deck for this week's exercise and begin when you are ready.

I'm using my Japaridze Tarot for this. I find the images blend easily for me.

Monday - Ruled by the Moon - Home life, inner life

Four of Tides and Love
The digital, 1:0 version of love is nowhere near as good as the real feeling of peace and contentment with one another.
Don't let anyone tell you what love is or how its supposed to be. The expansiveness of real love in ineffable.

Tuesday - Ruled by Mars – Adventures, challenges

The 10 of Fire and War.
These pairs are amazing.

When the goal is destruction there are no winners.
No matter how elegant the strategy, real war is chaotic.
Does it always have to be win/lose?
Isn't there room for everyone to thrive?

Wednesday - Ruled by Mercury –Letters, messages, communications

10 of Tides & Fortune
The maelstrom of time is inescapable.

I don't really know what that means but it came to me clear as a bell as I scryed into these cards.

Thursday - Ruled by Jupiter - Advice, exploring, journeys.

Jester of Gardens & Strength
The very heart of courage is fear.

I think reading in the evening is different.

Monday, and expression of home.

The Queen of Stones and the fractured 5 of bones. The Queen is subsumed in her the large fractured bones. She presents a façade of strength and grace under pressure that is actually broken, fractured. Fitting as I feel this more and more eaxh day.

Mars, aspirations & challenges. The queen of bones and Judgement. Another queen here. It is almost as if my inner truths are being challenged. In this one in particular my fangs, my strength takes flight, disarmed, everything else is shed under that full moon. Revelations and coming to terms, accounatbility for the things which I aspire toward. Almsot as if rising to the challenege is a matter of shedding and taking new perspectives.

Mercury, communications. 10 of stones, 9 of plumes. Again, taking flight, as mercury is the messenger god, this is curious as the stones here are distilled into flight with owls. Wisdom, and leaning into the inspired messages. What is too much, like the stones pushing outward under pressure, become messages of wisdom and revelation. I get patience as well.

Jupiter, explorations & journeys. What is yet unformed, yet to fully yield and open is articulated and given shape. Explorations find mooring and substance. I get a sense of keep at it.

Venus, love & art. This is as clear as day. What is closed will bloom and open. What is hibernating will find the spring of awakening. What is inside will come out. I say yes to all of this!

Saturday - Ruled by Saturn – Work, discipline, training

Sunday - Ruled by the Sun – The cycle of life, plans, advancement
Saturday, work & discipline. Cultivation that blooms. There's an elegant contunuation here of what is refined with hard work through pressure, blossoms. So I should approach hard work and putting in the sweat and toil from the angle of refining and honing in order for what I'm seeking to bring into fruition.

Sunday, advamcement & spotlight. From what is broken life grows anew. Sometimes what seems unmanageable, broken, failure is only steps away from something new. A new direction, a new blessing, a turn of events in my favor.

*I have to say Joan Marie I loved this week's approavh to the celestial week. It reminded me of a thread in aeclectic where we would exchange readings but they were from an organic non meaning based angle. So we would throw the cards for a questions and scry into the cards to get at the message, strictly staying away from set meanings. I used to love participating in that thread.

Ace of Winds & The Hermit
A flight into the world of the mind.

This was a strange exercise this week. Scrying into the cards like this was interesting and let to some sort of mysterious messages.
