Deck Delights and Deterrents
After spending a lovely time looking at video responses to PeekabooRose's "Tarot deck delights and deterrents" , a whole wonderful chain of videos discussing your personal points of attraction to decks and the opposite, I thought it would be interesting to discuss these points in writing. ...

Re: Decks I would love to get my hands on
Ah, this Six of Swords is one of the most beautiful I ever saw. To make them flow in an airship above the water... and all those whales and fish... magical.

Re: Decks I would love to get my hands on
About the New Liminal: I wrote a review about it and I decided to trim it. I hope the artist won't be angry with me.... but the untrimmed cards somehow looked to me as though they were moving or falling. They look better now IMO. img_20210101_141456.757.jpg img_20210101_141500.422.jpg img_20210101_1...

Re: Decks I would love to get my hands on
Re-visiting this thread nearly a year later - I have bought the New Liminal and love it, and I may be able to get my greedy hands on the Lebanese! Art_tarot_16.jpg Isn't this deck just perfect???? Lebanese.jpg Some of the decks I only dreamed about, like the Eisbergfreistadt (playing cards) and the ...

Really exciting! You have a number of unique decks to your name. This is a collaborative deck but without your vision, input, creativity and know-how, it wouldn't have come alive. I keep my fingers crossed for the Kickstarter - I want this to work so much! This is probably the most free-style oracle...

Re: What's the Deck-Stork bringing?
A very kind user on the Cartomancy boards sent me a pm - Adam MacLean sells some very very rare decks, among them my absolute dream deck, the Lebanese. It's very expensive, 180$!, and I'm unemployed right now - but I didn't want to give up so easily. I sent him a mail and he agreed to keep one deck ...

That sounds wonderful, how much energy you have! I wish you joy on your tarot journey. For me, tarot is the one thing that pulls everything else in my life together. I can analyse, dream, think, count the time and make sense of my life through tarot. We're all learners, the cards can always surprise...

Ah, the Ikigai diagram! I had a similar idea, connecting Ikigai and tarot, some time ago.

Re: Tarot of the Sephiroth ... as stepping stones into the world of kabbalah
I returned to my Tree with the majors and continued to play with it, arrange it better, more clearly. Here are all the cards connected to yellow-orange Hod (the Eights, Mercury). img_20210128_101717.328.jpg Up to red Gvura: the Hanged Man. Over to bright yellow Tif'eret: the Devil. Re: Tarot of the Sephiroth ... as stepping stones into the world of kabbalah
I changed the thread title to reflect the character this is developing - I have no idea whether anyone will read it attentively and understand the kabbalistic basic concepts any better - but there's always hope in January! Now I started to look at the court cards. img_20210128_100913.161.jpg I used ...

img_20210128_094932.000.jpg This was our Cups Tree, the Tree of Briah. Next is the Yetsirah Tree, the Tree of Swords. That was when my kitchen table turned out to be too small! and I decided to build a Tree with majors from the Swords minors. If you look at the Tree of Life, you see that there are ...

Kitchen table tarot! I emptied mine and took my time with the Tarot of the Sephiroth today. Oh yes, definitely very yellow  Until now, I have only build parts of the Tree with the deck. Actually, I want to try tomorrow to lay it out completely. Let's hope the cats will comply and not turn it all into chaos! I'm glad to see you like the deck, too. The book is good, too. Actually, I had...

Tarot of the Sephiroth ... as stepping stones into the world of kabbalah
Are there any fans of the Tarot of the Sephiroth around? http://learntarot.org/sedesc.htm It's maybe the most cerebral deck I have, along with the Hermetic, but it's much clearer than the Hermetic. It makes very clever use of colour symbolism, and explores the relationship between kabbalah and tarot...

Re: 36 Secrets: A Decanic Journey through the Minor Arcana of the Tarot by T. Susan Chang
Aaah, you're a born diplomat! Seriously - it took me years to wrap my dear old brain around the whole concept. What really made it easy to understand was Anthony Louis' second book (forgot the name, the advanced one). Until the Chang book comes out as Kindle, I won't buy it - or let's wait who break...

I totally agree with Mokona's recommendations, and in addition, reading the cards constantly is the best way of getting to know them deeply. I love those videos, too, especially when they don't talk much but simply let the images flow before our eyes. And the best? Deck comparisons! Watching two decks that I want compared card-by-card is wonderful. It has saved me some money! Mixtress Rae's Unfair Comparison series is an eternal favourit...

Re: Exalted Planets
Very true, they don't change. The exalted planets means that there is a closeness between the planet and the sign. Not as close as the ruling planets but the sign provides a benign environment for the planet. So when you have the Moon in Taurus, the Moon is happy there, it's a good match, they stren...
