Re: Special Announcement about Cult of Tarot
It's sad to see you stepping away from the forum, but understandable too. Thank you for having created it in the first place, there aren't many good tarot forums around. It takes a lot of time and effort to keep a forum going, so thank you for everything you have done here! Best of luck for your fut...

Re: How Do You Keep Your Decks?
I just finished completely reorganizing my collection! I bought 4 of these big cabinets (which took me a few days to assemble!); 2 are on one side of the room, and I have 2 on the other side of the room. Here's pics of both outside and inside. This is tarot storage only; I have a 4 drawer file cabi...

Re: New to Cards but excited to Learn
Hi Middleagedseeker, welcome:) I have the Gypsy Witch cards, but haven't used them much. I didn't find the readings very good that I did with them, but then again I find Lenormand difficult to read and they are very similar. It was interesting to try though. Glad to hear you having success with them...

I don't really have any ideas to contribute at the moment, but I really appreciate all the effort you do to improve the forum:) I'd like to become more active in doing readings, as I haven't read for other people in a while and want to get more confident and improve my skills, but haven't been sure ...

Re: Expanding on king and queen distinctions
Watch the interaction between Margaret Thatcher and her husband Dennis in For Your Eyes Only (a parody of course). She is the "Iron Lady". Hard power personified and an Emperor personality. He is the Empress. Role reversal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf67SPzC3tQ&ab_channel=DazzaK...

Re: Expanding on king and queen distinctions
Additionally instead of thinking about a queen in terms of an ancient or outmoded role in society we can draw parallels in the modern world with someone who is married to a 'ruler' such as a CEO of a global corporation, or a first lady in the US and the type of things that might be required of them...

Re: Expanding on king and queen distinctions
I see a Queen as an equally strong character as the King just with a different energy and approach. They are a duality. Both have equally valuable qualities, skills, energy which can be positive or negative depending on the context, so I certainly don't see the Queen as shallow. Rather than approach ...

Re: How I learn
Because I have read so many things online and on forums NOT to use the Celtic Cross and reversals, I think I might have been influenced by that a little. I am also a little worried I may get overloaded with so many cards but the least I can do is try it. I have some topics I can use in the Celtic C...

Re: How I learn
I have read that a lot of people struggle with the court cards and my tarot journey is still so young so I will get the hang of things eventually. I will buy a book about the Court cards though, I think that can come in handy with the other books I have. Oh I've found them tricky too. I think they ...

Re: How I learn
I learned by getting decks that resonated with me. Rider Waite never has, so I never used that one, but other decks I have are based on that system or a modified version (one or two decks I have use a totally different system). I learned this early on as one of the first decks I bought after a long ...

Dirt cheap Tarot readings - what do you think?
Whilst browsing on Etsy the other day I noticed there are so many tarot reading offerings at bargain basement prices. I'm wondering how it's possible to offer readings that are just £0.60p example. A reading can time time and thought and then more time to convey what was seen in a meaningful, suppor...

Re: Intuition issues?
I believe practicing using a system as a starting point builds symbolic associations that can serve as a great springboard. This reminded me of something I've often thought, which is that I think it's possible to create one's own system too. For example if you found a set of image based cards (does...

https://www.amazon.com/dp/1578637139 From this book that I bought, Theresa Reed (the writer) recommends the following to hone your intuition outside of tarot: 1) Pull out regular poker playing cards, card by card, faced down, and focus on the card to try to guess what card it is before flipping ove...

Intuition issues?
In the 3 card spread posting (great thread!) Joan Marie made an interesting observation: https://www.cultoftarotforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=143&t=3700 I think that people just learning Tarot these days are getting a lot of advice about trusting their intuition but not really getting any useful gui...

Re: Is it weird to ask your cards if you'll marry someone after a first date?
I don't think its necessarily weird, but not something I would personally do. I can understand why someone might do it though. My concern would be that it could colour the person's approach to the relationship. What if perhaps the relationship would be relevant or important for that person in their ...

Re: Brexit impact on shipping to UK, alas!
The recent changes were for EU countries - Brexit doesn't affect the US, so its 'trading as usual' as far as I know. It's possible the seller has misunderstood what's happening (unless the products are actually dispatched from the EU, in which case it would be problematic). As for EU countries...it'...

Re: Past Life Readings For Fun Or Profit
I've briefly seen the topic in lists of videos and blog topics etc. I do believe in reincarnation, but haven't seriously thought about doing a reading on it myself. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think it could be very tricky. There is no way of verifying if you are correct or not, and I think ...

Re: Astrology - just symbols...or energies?
I'm also a star gazer at night, and that helps me visualize the beginnings of astrology. I see the moon at night, and I see the zodiac girdle moving before my eyes. In the evening, I see Taurus set in the West, and in the morning, I see Scorpio rise. And I can easily understand that over generation...
